How Many Pizzas Are On Venus?
A Book of Poems
By Scot MacKinnon
Father's Sins
Now, the Devil don't scare me, 'cause see,
he has always been with me.
Some have Jesus on their side and sing it with pride,
But I am still paying for my father's sins.
See, the Devil doesn't even bother chasing me,
'Cause he knows he has my soul for eternity.
Now, some say on your last day you can repent
'Cause this body is just for rent.
You don't get to keep it,
No matter how much money you spent.
As I sit here with the Devil at my back
And my face to the wind,
Thinking how many times
I have taken one to the chin.
How many times I had to cheat, steal, or lie,
Just to stay alive, or just to win.
That's why the devil doesn't scare me,
'Cause I got nothing to lose and everything to win.
Remember, I am still paying for my father's sins.
